He tends to forget to shave every day, so his face sometimes sports day or two old stubble. He also doesn't pay much attention to how long his hair gets until his mother reminds him to have it cut. He has the most serious, intense expressions but in the next instant his face can change into the goofiest smile. His laugh is infectious and if someone is in a pissy mood, Terry can usually get them to turn around by a grin, a nudge and a laugh at a joke. Terry has several whip marks on his back from punishment from the Carrows back at school after the incident when he announced the rumor in the great hall about the trio escaping Gringotts on a dragon. He was also aware of what went on around him at the school, and not just stuck his nose in a book all the time. He was an avid supporter of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team (and Gryffidnor if they weren't playing against), and as soon as he heard about Harry putting together Dumbledore's Army Terry was right on board, wanting to learn what Harry could teach about Defending one's self against the Dark Arts. He thought it was a brilliant idea, even though it went against the school rules (but at that point, even Terry was tired of Umbridge). Terry is a loyal friend and hates to see anyone down or depressed. He believes life is too short to worry about the small things and tried to get everyone to see the bigger picture. Terry is easy to get along with, always smiling and making jokes but he does have his serious side - especially when it concerns muggles and their wasteful nature and what they are doing to the environment. He hates to see injustice and will be the first to come to aid of someone who is being picked on or bullied. Even though his opinions of muggles has not been the greatest over the past several years, he still doesn't believe they are inferior to wizards and Terry is very intolerant to blood prejudices. Special abilities/strengths/flaws: Terry is a vegetarian. He doesn't try to impose his dietary views on others, but if asked he will explain why he turned to being a veggie (after watching a lamb get slaughtered on an Australian sheep farm). Of course he doesn't think meat eaters are bad, evil people - but he also thinks the British diet could do with an overhaul too. He has a terrible, terrible habit of biting his fingernails even to the point of making them bleed. He's tried everything to stop him of this habit - hypnotism, Tabasco sauce and every pepper potion out there for nail biting. Nothing seems to work. Relevant backstory: After the war, Terry had the chance of mentoring under a very well respected Herbologist, Anton Kale, in Australia who was researching the effects of a new cabbage on the ecological system in that country. Under Anton's mentoring, Terry learned quite a lot about Herbology - more than Sprout ever taught him - and how important it is for witches and wizards to get involved in the conservation of the world's resources, since the muggle world seems to be so set on destroying them. Between Australia and New Zealand, Terry worked with Anton and others in the same field, helping out communities with infestations that were damaging the ecosystem, discovering new species of plant life in remote areas, working on helping the hungry to work crops and maintain them better so that they would be a renewable source of food for years and years and etc. While Terry has been in Australia and between New Zealand, he struck up a friendship with Neville Longbottom over the years, owling back and forth and comparing notes on certain herbology subjects. Terry considers Neville to be a good friend, though they haven't seen each other since the end of the war. When Anton passed a way a few years ago, Neville had sent Terry a very heart-felt letter of sympathy which Terry still keeps. Now that Terry's little sister has become preggers, he's decided to come home and visit the family he's barely seen since he moved away (though he made sure to keep in constant contact with them via owl). He's been in England shortly after Flitwick's funeral and though he hasn't yet gotten back in contact with Neville, that's one of the first things he plans to do after getting settled in and show his solidarity and support to Neville as becoming the next Headmaster at Hogwarts. | |||||||||
